PSY 255 Topic 5 Personality Traits Twins with Anxiety

Abstract

In this paper, the cause of personality particularity of anxiety as well as what factors may be a common cause to individualities who witness anxiety daily. The feeling of constantly always fussing causes an effect on people’s diurnal life, which is known as anxiety. Within this paper, the three main motifs which cause an individual to have symptoms of anxiety constantly are genetics, environmental factors, and relationship. The exploration talked about in this paper examines binary studies that analyze how every party can be affected by genetics, environmental factors, and relationship.

Anxiety is “an emotion characterized by passions of pressures, upset studies, and physical changes like increased blood pressure” (Kazdin, 2000,p. 107). There have been several misconceptions about anxiety and what actually causes this complaint to several individuals. Anxiety is a continuing set of passions or feelings that leads to depression as well as a feeling of being unworthy (Kazdin, 2000). Anxiety is a personality particularity that can be developed at a youthful age, especially in an important developing stage. There are three common ways anxiety can be developed; genetics, environmental factors, and connections.

Genetics

A major factor that causes individuals to have anxiety is their genetics. A study within halves was managed to see how genetics played a part in personality and in individuals having anxiety. In this study of identical and brotherly halves as well their parents were sat down and were asked several questions. These questions were organized to compare the monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) halves. This study states, “When involving two or further different phenotypes, genetically instructional analyses have the occasion to probe the degree to which the variables have common inheritable and environmental goods” (Ask et al., p 103). These experimenters estimated the part of genetics that converted depression as well as the setting the existence was set in.

This study used a variety of samples of halves of all periods that have different situations of anxiety. The target of this study was to grasp whether anxiety is caused by genetics or if there are other factors in place. This study also audited whether the gender within the halves had an effect on the situations of anxiety that each party had. The first set of information was gathered in 2006, and the periods of all sets of halves were in between the periods of twelve and eighteen. Samples of DNA were taken by swabbing their cheeks as well as being associated with the set of questions that each family member had to answer. The signs of anxiety were measured on the screen for the child anxiety-related emotional complaint questionnaire.

This comported of statements similar to, “People tell me I worry too important When I get alarmed, I feel dizzy, and I feel shy with people I don’t know well” (Ask et., 2016,p. 106). With each report, the aspirants had to obligatory reply on a three-point scale. With this three-point scale, zero, meaning hardly ever being true or not true at each, one is sometimes true, and two is constantly true. These issues were also matched with the DNA results and their families’ checks. The probability of anxiety and sadness is outstandingly inclined between both ladies and males by heredity. Each individualities’ reiterations displayed anxiety ran in the family and was distributed through generations genetically (Ask et al., 2016). One other study on genetics collected data on MZ and DZ halves that are over the age of fifty.

There were six unlike tests over a length of eleven times. Suggestions of anxiety were studied using the State Anxiety subscale from the State-Trait Personality Inventory (STAI). This coming study is analogous to the former study with a number of varied statements to which each individual responds, but this time on a five-point scale. One point doesn’t fit at all, with five points being the most befitting. Once the form was fulfilled by each contributor, DNA samples were also taken from every set of the halves who shared. The DNA samples were also matched with their situations of anxiety that were set up within the questionnaire.

It redounded in each set of halves who had suffered anxiety at a youthful age would remain still having anxiety in the alternate half of their actuality. The issues were solid amongst MZ men and ladies, but the issues amongst DZ halves were not. The issues proved that although eighty- five percent of the analysis, one of the DZ halves suffered anxiety, while the other twin didn’t have those analogous suggestions( Lee et.). Genetics plays a major part when it comes to anxiety. The environmental factors that individualities are girdled by are just as important to factor in with anxiety.

Environmental Factors

Individualities being in surroundings and the influence in their lives cause them to develop anxiety. A study was done on sets of halves to distinguish how the different surroundings affected each party. This study was done because controlling the differences in one’s terrain as well as calculating the impact of environmental factors, is delicate. Still, assaying halves who grew up in an analogous terrain gave further accurate results in which the terrain contributes to symptoms of anxiety. In order to complete this study, sets of halves were chosen from several different areas where they will be exposed to several different surroundings, all while going through experimental sections of their life. There were halves chosen from the lower profitable as well as halves in an advanced-class terrain.

Connections

The people we compass ourselves with play a major part in how they shape individualities. This is a reason why relationship factors in the cause of anxiety. The study behind connections was measured in order to find the situations of anxiety within connections. This study had five thousand sets of halves that were all sixteen times old. Psychotic gests were studied through a series of questions that each existent has gone through within their relations and their anxiety situations faced daily. The results presented that halves that had a bad relationship with their cousins and or musketeers faced an advanced position of anxiety compared to those who had successful connections (Ronald et., 2014). Within another study, connections were also examined on anxiety within different sets of couples.

Conclusion

Anxiety is a term that numerous individuals don’t inescapably understand. When one suffers from anxiety, it basically affects their life on a diurnal basis, whether it’s from tone depiction, internal thought process, and connections. Several individuals, if not everyone, suffers feeling of anxiety on a short-term basis. Anxiety symptoms in the long- term base can be extremely exhausting for one person to be going through. In these papers’ results, it’s proven that anxiety can be caused by one’s genetics, environmental factors, and connections. While observing different causes of personalities and the different traits each aspirant holds, binary studies have been the most useful. Each monitor was suitable to compare a person who shares the same DNA (monozygotic) as well as bones that don’t (dizygotic). Studying anxiety within halves is salutary when concluding different personality traits when it’s genetics, environmental factors, or relationship related. Personality psychology is a delicate field that has multitudinous factors. One personality particularity that has been caused by one’s genetics, environmental factors, and connections is anxiety.
