(Merriam-Webster, Web. 16 September 2017) In my entire life, I have never submitted a resume. Nearly every employment opportunity I’ve ever held was made possible by people I knew or those they knew. From that perspective, I must say that, despite my limited experience, networking does work when it comes to finding work, a mentor, or someone to replace your gutters. It is unquestionably superior to the endless cover letters and resumes that the majority of job seekers use in vain.
Information Competency After looking into the various technology-related organizations and associations that are available, I believe that joining CompTIA’s Association of Information Technology Professionals could provide all of the resources I need to build a professional network. They would, in my opinion, provide access to a network of IT business professionals, advice via their career resources, and instruction via their on-demand training with the lynda.com courses they offer. At this early point in my IT profession, I feel that their understudy program could be exceptionally helpful for me in creating contacts inside the business.
Even though they are older, the items in my portfolio that I believe would be helpful to me in developing my network are my certifications. because they provide documentation of my 30-year career in the industry. It should also include my previous certificates in a related field. Particularly the semester of computer science. Along with my current course of study and grades, I will also need to include my current studies. These are good starting points to let them know that I have been doing this for some time, although I am unsure of what companies or potential customers may be looking for in terms of history and experience.

I’m actually sorting out web-based entertainment, and I’m most likely not the most ideal individual to remark on any part of it, in any case, I accept that LinkedIn is presumably the best virtual entertainment source for systems administration working of any kind. From what I comprehend about it, that is the sole reason for LinkedIn, so that is, by all accounts, an undeniable decision. It’s possible that Instagram could be useful, though I’m not sure how it would fit into the IT industry. Facebook should be a part of your strategy if you want to promote yourself. if only because it seems to be used by everyone in the world.
Reflection and learning skills I typically use running as my primary method of stress relief. However, this has been severely restricted because it appears that I have developed a very painful hernia, necessitating a change of scenery for the time being. Since I typically run a lot, I’m content with cycling for the time being. I don’t know how powerful this is, yet the reality of the situation will surface at some point. The university itself is causing me an excessive amount of stress. I’m having trouble getting financial aid, and now I have to deal with a transcript issue, which could lead to my suspension. Not helpful for a spurred mentality and is very diverting, no doubt.
Simply saying no has been and continues to be my primary time management strategy. I have a sweetheart now, and that gobbles up some time yet she maintains two sources of income, so that is somewhat restricted: I go to work, I return home and move my planned everyday schedule, or presently cycle and afterward type on my composition or watch persuasive or educational YouTube recordings. Therefore, time management skills are not particularly required, although having a girlfriend does add a new dimension.

As you might be aware, I’m a more established understudy so I’m more mindful of my learning philosophies than perhaps a more youthful understudy may be. I in all actuality, do have methods that I use for learning. My personality, I believe, will be the best tool for building professional and academic networks. Strangely, I listen with interest and friendliness. I say strangely because I tend to be shy, but I enjoy meeting new people and am always happy.
Thinking and Critical thinking
The primary procedure I utilize in critical thinking considering organizing is: Make an effort to approach it with the mindset that it is a chance to learn something new. I find that this tends to alter my perspective on how I classify my activities; I don’t have to try to solve a problem or worry about it; instead, I can just look at my options like it’s another chance to learn something new. My second strategy is to brainstorm with my expanding group of friends. I am able to gain a variety of perspectives and ideas as a result of this. Also, I can rely on these people, to tell the truth, whether it’s good or bad. This, I believe, enables me to fully utilize my networks to assist in resolving any academic or professional challenges.
I am thinking about contacting a few people with the intention of having them mentor me. However, this is not at all related to my IT expertise but rather to my desire to assist others in achieving their objectives through my YouTube videos. The main one is a motivational speaker who personally inspires me a lot. Because he is a young entrepreneur who is very successful at getting his message across on the platform, I would like to have this person. This man is Clark Kegley. He started out with nothing and helped people for a living by making videos he was passionate about. What an excellent means of subsistence.

Because I am so passionate about so many things, it is very hard for me to keep my career path on a consistent path. Right now, I’m trying to figure out what I want to do most. When I do, I’ll focus primarily on that path, but I’ll keep my options open and keep my “metaphorical ear to the ground” open for opportunities. It’s possible that I’ll want to alter my course and approach it the same way I do everything else: get the information I need to make a decision, evaluate it, and carry it out.
Grit and the Growth Mindset
According to C. Dweck (2006), I consider myself to have a “growth mindset.” I accept that this is proven by the way that I am in school at 53 years old. If someone didn’t believe they could learn and develop at any age, I don’t think they would begin that kind of pursuit. Because motivation is so fleeting, I do not believe in it. I simply do a ton of stuff in any event when I don’t want to follow through with something. Similar to when you don’t want to run this morning. You put on your clothes but still don’t feel like it. This morning, you’re not feeling well, tired, sick, or whatever else it is you feel about running. However, you’re dressed and ready to leave. I still have no desire to run. You start your GPS and wait for the satellite to connect, but you still don’t want to run. You start your stopwatch and head out, but you don’t feel like running. However, once you start running, you feel better. The same applies to everything we put off doing. You have to get started and do what needs to be done, regardless of how motivated you are.
In terms of strategies for maintaining motivation, I will not employ any and will simply perform what is required. Concerning general networking objectives, I’m unsure: Do I have to set some for systems administration or not? Even if this is just for my benefit, I’m not even sure if I’ll work in this industry. Therefore, I need to make some decisions first, and once I have made these difficult decisions, I will decide whether or not to set goals based on the career path I choose.
Utilization of Support Mechanisms
The work site might and ought to be a significant component of any professional network. If you already work in your chosen field, I think a job site could be the best place to work on our network. I say this since we, by and large know and associate with individuals we work with, even me, a loner that doesn’t mingle much by any stretch of the imagination. The reason I say that the workplace or job site is the most important part of a professional network is that most companies these days have a disposable employee mentality, so your coworkers will be leaving and joining other companies. This could give you an “in” at the new companies where your network members are currently employed. In addition, there are times when all we require to get where we want to go is, so to speak, a foot in the door.

Working as an intern will put you in touch with every person you interact with, whether at the company where you intern or with other workers or employees. If I were an intern, I would try to make the most of the opportunity to meet these people and try to develop some kind of relationship with them. It would be ideal to begin working on a professional network at that time. For the same reasons, my second choice for starting the network would be to work with a mentor or shadow a professional. I think that fraternities should be a big part of a person’s professional network because they will make connections that are closer to them and last longer when they are in school. If you are a member, honors societies are also a good place to build your network. Although we cannot all be members of Phi Theta Kappa—the largest and most prestigious honor society for students attending community colleges and two-year institutions—it should not prevent anyone from joining the network.
Because they know more students than we do, faculty members can be a useful part of an academic network. They could group students with similar interests together or recommend others to us for a common goal if they are aware of the student’s interests.
In conclusion, I would like to emphasize once more that I am in no way certain of my career path. I must put in a lot of effort to catch up because I missed so much time in prison. Since I have previously been a serial entrepreneur and am eager to launch a new business, this is my top priority. I do have a group of people who I refer to as my “inner circle,” if you will. They are my sounding board, my “development circle,” and what keeps me grounded as they won’t hesitate to come clean with me, but they are troublesome. This arrangement is the most important part of my network, and I hope that everyone has it in their lives.
