It is with immense responsibility and enthusiasm that I am submitting my research related to existing issues that are negatively affecting telehealth services and health care professionals who provide the service to draft and implement policies to solve the issues. As a research student, I guarantee you that the information provided with recommendations will be critical in telehealth policy changes and I wish to collaborate with you to achieve the goals of telehealth services.
With the negative effects of COVID-19 on health care services, access to health care, increasing cost, and high mortality rate, it is important to extend the telehealth services offered by the health care organizations and health care professionals to mitigate the issues. Telehealth services increase quality care, patient and nurse satisfaction, health care access, equity, and use of technology. It also helps in reducing health care costs, hospital readmission, unwanted ER visits, and mortality rate.
However, current policies pose different challenges such as restricted health care services and facilities, unclear policies regarding the use of audio and video services, restrictions on easy license obtaining, and making telehealth a permanent part of health care services. I am looking forward to speaking with you on this issue to solve barriers in making telehealth a permanent health care service. Thank you for your time and consideration.
