Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse:
Judith has been a friend and colleague since our undergraduate program. She relocated to the U.S.A a few years before me and has been instrumental in guiding me through my nursing career. She provided valuable insights into different nursing specialties and helped me develop both short-term and long-term career goals. Judith recently completed her MSN-FNP at Walden University and is awaiting her board exams. She shared her challenges during the program, such as balancing school, family, and a full-time job, and provided advice on how to achieve her goals. Judith is always available to encourage and support me as I further my education. I consider her a trusted friend and professional mentor.

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse:
Dorothy is a social media activist for the health and wellness of the less fortunate in society and a mentor to many. She shared her inspiring journey from a humble background to her current position. Despite not being a top student, her resilience and hard work paid off. When I met her, I was motivated to further my education without delay. Dorothy has a thirst for knowledge and constantly enrolls in short courses. Her interest in drug addiction and the opioid epidemic led her to collaborate with another professional to start a clinic for those struggling with addiction. She mentors me on becoming a professional entrepreneur in the psychiatric and mental health specialty. I volunteer and learn from her during medical missions. Joining Walden University was the right choice for me, and Dorothy continues to provide guidance and support.

Ms. Kathi is an excellent mentor and teacher for nurses new to the psychiatric and mental health specialty. She has been my resource person for understanding mental health from an academic perspective. Through one-on-one discussions, she has helped me explore my areas of interest. Ms. Kathi ensures my work schedule is flexible enough to accommodate my school work. She guides me in prioritizing courses and encourages me to pursue additional short courses offered at the hospital. I look forward to gaining more knowledge from her as I continue my journey as a nurse practitioner.
